Initial Ideas

CARDS

Firstly, I started off with creating some possible card ideas, basing these cards based on the most common concussion symptoms. So, I experimented it with a variety of optical illusions to showcase these symptoms in an exciting way. I got inspiration from when David and I spoke when I had a previous tutorial, he stressed that I looked into an Anais Prudhomme, multiple sclerosis pack , which was really beneficial to research into and get inspiration from. From this these will be developed even further to further create distortion and represent the most common concussion symptoms also adding statistics alongside it which would relate better I’m work with the visuals.

The most common concussion symptoms are:

  • Headaches
  • Noise Sensitivity
  • Blurred Vision
  • Light Sensitivity
  • Slurred Speech
  • Double Vision

BOOKLET/EDITORIAL DESIGN LAYOUT

From the research I had previously carried out on booklets slash editorials, I have taken aspects I had previously mentioned in my previous blog into my ideations process. Taking experimentation of layouts, visual placements, limited colour palette, distorted visuals etc.

This will be developed even further and from this transfer it to be digitalised into a booklet.

POSTER DESIGN IDEAS

From the research I previously carried out to get inspiration for from my ideation process, I have created these initial ideas for what my posters could possibly look like in the future. Aspects I previously mentioned in my research, I carried through into these initial ideas.

SCRUM CAPS

For the Scrum caps, I wanted there to be a better safety measure for when spotting concussions at more domesticated level. So, I thought about having a scrum cap where it shows a symptom of concussion by having an impact on the head from a tackle etc, so from this I thought about having the optical illusions appearing on the scrum cap when getting hit and the certain type of illusion will relate to what symptom of concussion the rugby player has.
